Encourage students to answer one another’s questions in lab and office hours to help both confident and confused students better understand the course concepts.

  • Urge students to explain concepts to each other when having group discussions to reinforce the material.
    • If new students join in the middle of the discussion, have the explainer recap for the students.
  • Avoid lapsing into lecturer mode when students ask questions in these settings.
    • You don’t want to interfere when the students are helping each other because this is a good learning moment for all students involved.
