Introduce the mnemonic “Burger King Makes Great Toast” for memorizing the order of data sizes “Byte, Kilobyte, Megabyte, Gigabyte, and Terabyte” to aid students remembering this information.

Activity:

First, introduce the idea of a bit.
Then tell students to the number of bits in a Byte, a Kilobyte, a Megabyte, a Gigabyte, and a Terabyte.
Have students look at the size of different files to see if they can find examples of files that have the units KB, GB etc.
A fun joke you can make is to introduce a Nibble (4 bits):
